UNITED IN DEFENSE OF ARTSAKH

UNITED IN DEFENSE OF ARTSAKH

Dear parishioners & friends,

We are all intensely aware of the daily developments in Artsakh and Armenia. Our courageous, faithful, Christ-loving people continue to show incredible heroism, resolve, and sacrifice as they fight an incredible life-or-death battle for the preservation of holy Artsakh and Armenia. The situation is urgent and demands immediate action on our part.

We know that many of you have already made donations to Armenia Fund/Himnadram, and we thank you for your generosity. We have seen the fervent efforts our entire Armenian community to raise funds and raise awareness for our collective cause, in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Artsakh and Armenia.

MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD

Our Armenian-American advocacy groups, the Armenian Assembly of America and the Armenian National Committee, are meeting with members of Congress and the Administration, urging them to officially and publicly condemn the Azeri aggression and demand its immediate cessation; to demand the termination of all U.S. financial aid to Azerbaijan; and to rein in Turkey from its insidious supportive role.

Both ANCA and the Assembly have made it easy for you to make your voices heard in support of these goals. Please visit www.anca.org and www.armenian-assembly.org to access their websites, and urge the American government to stand with our people in this crisis.

JOIN THE GLOBAL EFFORT TO DONATE TO ARMENIA FUND

Our Primate Bishop Daniel Findikyan has directed all parishes in our Diocese to make a urgent sacrificial contribution with these few days in support of the civilian relief effort in our homeland. Fr. Arakel and our Parish Council have decided to contribute $35,000 of our parish funds to the Artsakh relief effort on behalf of St. James Armenian Church.

If you are able, we welcome your additions to our St. James parish contribution to the Armenia Fund.

Donations may be made via check payable to St. James Armenian Church (memo: Artsakh relief) or online.

This is a critical moment in our nation’s modern history—one in which we all have a role to play. May our merciful Lord protect our homeland and provide peace and comfort to the people of Artsakh and Armenia.
