On Sunday, April 6, Sunday School students of St. James Church of Watertown, MA, took part in “Service Sunday”—an annual outreach activity held before Easter.
Students of each Sunday School class brought in supplies and spent the day assembling Easter baskets and kitchen supply packages for local residents who are in need. They made 72 Easter baskets filled with candy, gifts, and a message from St. James, and “Welcome Home” kitchen packages containing paper towels, sponges, dishtowels, and other items. In addition, the Sunday School students prepared boxed lunches for a local shelter.
The 4th-grade class also learned how to make nushkhar with the Rev. Fr. Arakel Aljalian, parish pastor. The nushkhar were blessed and the students took them home.
