Walk starts at 11 AM. Starts from ACEC- 47 Nichols Ave and ends at the Town Hall with the Fair in the Square Festival. \nWE ALSO ENCOURAGE ALL OUR PARISHIONERS TO JOIN THE ARMENIAN BONE MARROW DONOR REGISTRY’S DATABASE.\nJOIN THE ST. JAMES TEAM!\nFIND WALK INFORMATION HERE\nTHE CAUSE\nEvery year thousands of people die of Leukemia.  In US alone every 4 minutes someone is diagnosed with Leukemia\, and every 10 minutes someone dies of Leukemia.  These are our children\, parents\, siblings\, family\, cousins\, grandchildren\, grandparents and neighbors. \nDue to the unique genetic make-up of Armenians\, it is nearly impossible to find suitable matches for ethnic Armenian patients within the existing international registries.  As a result\, thousands of Armenian lives have been lost to leukemia and other life-threatening blood disorders. \nAs THE registry that helps facilitate recruiting and identifying matched unrelated bone marrow donors for ethnic Armenians\, ABMDR is crucial in saving these lives. \nWalk of Life’s goal is to bring our community members together to fight against leukemia and life-threatening blood disorders. It helps ABMDR to save lives by: \n\nRaising public awareness of leukemia\nRecruiting donors to add to its internationally recognized Registry\nRaising funds to tissue type these donors\, to educate the public\, and to serve patients.\n\n(SOURCE: WWW.ABMDR.AM)

DESCRIPTION:FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION OF  THE HOLY MOTHER OF GOD (ASDVADZADZIN) AND BLESSING OF GRAPES SERVICE \nMorning Service 8:30am\nDivine Liturgy 10:00am \nFeast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother-of-God\nThe Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother-of-God is a non-variable commemoration and the oldest of all those dedicated to St. Mary. The Armenian Church celebrates this feast day on the nearest Sunday to August 15\, a practice adopted at the time of St. Nersess the Graceful. \nAssumption comprises a week of fasting\, Navagadik\, and a Memorial Day. In the early centuries\, the observance took place over the course of three days; but as arranged by Shnorhali\, it was extended to nine days. The tradition concerning the dormition of the Holy Mother did not become a basic teaching (doctrine) of the church until the 9th century; and it wasn't until the 12th century that the feast was titled "the Assumption."\nOn the Feast of the Assumption\, the blessing of grapes takes place immediately after the Divine Liturgy.  (source:www.armenianchurch-ed.net)
